PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program is a four-year degree program which focuses on the study of computer utilization and computer software to plan, install, customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure. It likewise deals with the design and development of computer-based information systems for real-world business solutions.The program prepares students to become IT professionals with primary competencies in the areas of systems analysis and design, applications development, database administration, network administration, and systems implementation and maintenance.The program also requires a Capstone project. It should be in the form of an IT applications development as a business solution for an industry need.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and administration of computer based systems
Analyze complex problems and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution
Communicate effectively with the computing community and with society at large about complex computing activities through logical writing, presentations and clear instructions
Design and implement and evaluate computer based systems, processes, components or programs to meet desired needs and requirement under various constraints
Apply knowledge of computing, science and mathematics appropriate to the discipline
Assist in the creation of an effective IT project
Apply knowledge through the use of current technique, tools and practices necessary for the IT profession.
Function effectively as a member or leader of a development team recognizing the different roles within the tea to accomplish a common goal.
Understand best practices and standards and their applications.
