The Pylon originally stood for the true, the good, and the beautiful. The Triad of Pillars may also stand for wisdom, strength and beauty because there should be wisdom to contrive, strength to support and beauty to adorn any great or important undertaking. Since 1987, however, the Pylon came to symboized truth, excellence and wisdom.
The Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resources Center (NALLRC) is the library system of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines composed of libraries providing services to the PUP System. The NALLRC Main Library is regarded as one of the largest libraries in Southeast Asia. The building is also home to the University's College of Law and Open University System.
