Punit is an Indo-Canadian interdisciplinary dance-theatre artist based in Vancouver, BC. His movement background includes contemporary dance influenced by Hip-hop, Breaking, Krump, Popping, and House. Drawing from experience in computer science, acting, psychology, and social services, his practice integrates movement, voice, theatre, film, and technology, exploring questions of life, belonging, society, and the mind.
He has been mentored by Sadhya Dance Company, Ryan Martyr, Sophia Sosa, Marissa Wong, Arash Khakpour, Deanna Peters, Natalie Gan, and Lesley Telford. Punit has created and presented work with NewWorks, Dance West Network, and The Dance Centre, and has toured across Canada and Japan.
He is a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts award and the Dance Victoria Chrystal Dance Prize.

Ye Dil Sun Raha Hai (2025-ongoing)
Dance-theatre duet exploring memory, cultural identity, and the fragments of self shaped by media, popular culture, and nostalgia. Blending movement, voice, and storytelling, the work reconstructs personal and collective histories through remembered songs, images, and experiences, examining how culture continues to live within the body.

Interdisciplinary research project exploring the future of intimacy, relationships, and human connection. Combining dance, AI, and speculative storytelling, the project investigates how technology reshapes our ideas of partnership, belonging, loneliness, and collective existence.

Site-specific dance-theatre duet exploring loitering as both a physical act and a social condition. Drawing from street dance culture, public life, and everyday acts of gathering, the work investigates the social choreographies that emerge through waiting, wandering, observing, and spending time together in shared spaces.

Solo dance-theatre work exploring internalized social hierarchies and psychological conditioning. The piece combines contemporary and street dance with spoken text and sound design to examine cycles of self-doubt, identity performance, and repetition.
