About the Teacher

Name: Poppy Pruett Underwood

The 2022-23 year starts my 34th year of teaching with the Memphis City/Shelby County Schools/Memphis Shelby County Schools. This is my 23rd year at White Station High School. I have taught Geometry for all 34 years as well as a mixture of other mathematics courses. Teaching Algebra I and Geometry to 9th and 10th graders are my two favorite things to teach.

My husband Joe and I have been married for 20 years and we have a 17-year old daughter, Hannah, that will be in 12th grade at White Station High School this school year. We also have FOUR weenie dogs, Elvis, Harley, Petey and Porsche!
