The Johnston Family have been Shih Tzu lovers since daughter Caroline started walking dogs in the 5th grade . She brought home Joy, a Shih Tzu she was walking after school and told mom, Regina that Joy was going to be given back up to a shelter. Well, we just couldn't let that happen! Joy ,who has now crossed the rainbow bridge ,became the center of our family for many years. She lived to be 14 years old .

Joy ,who has now crossed the rainbow bridge ,became the center of our family for many years. She lived to be 14 years old .
So like every other member of our family, we took Joy to the Church to be Blessed. After many great years with Joy and after becoming very interested in the breed, Regina started following another breeder in Kansas, who agreed to be her mentor. Regina's interests then turned to raising the smaller shih tzu (5-8 lbs) called Imperials.
Regina and John have 6 children together, Brittney, Kirstey, Caroline, Savannah, Isabella, and Jacob. Regina is a retired head librarian from Bandera ISD in Bandera, Texas. John is a retired Detective from the Houston Police Department and is now a School Marshal. We still have 2 children at home who help us love and care for all of our pups. Recently, we all made our retirement move to Kane, Pennsylvania where we are restoring a 1911 Victorian home.
Our babies are raised in our home underfoot. They are quite the spoiled bunch. John and Regina prepare their homemade food weekly and they run and play in our large back yard. They live on our laps and sleep in our beds. They are never kenneled.
