Notwithstanding this result, the competition gave Maasin City's players valuable experience and knowledge of sophisticated competitive chess. Members of the team acknowledged the importance of playing against players from different campuses of Southern Leyte State University, pointing out that these games revealed areas that needed strategic development. In addition to being enjoyable, this event provided an educational opportunity that will help them improve their methods and approaches.
