On March 5, 2024, the multi – purpose court of Southern Leyte State University grew wild with deafening cheers from the students as they saw an incredible drag performance unlike anything other. With their captivating personality and unmatched talent, Espektro de Orgulyo dazzled the audience with a presentation of Pinoy pop tunes, during the Tune Fest at Southern Leyte State University – Main Campus, Sogod, Southern Leyte. Along with other dance performances, song numbers and chorales performed by other extension campuses of SLSU, the Drag Queens of SLSU – Maasin City Campus captured hearts with their lavish costumes and impeccable choreography as they swept the audience away into a world of glitz and glamor as the spotlight shone down on the stage.
The show was a celebration of inclusivity and self-expression rather than just entertainment. On stage, Espektro de Orgulyo was a symbol of empowerment, defying social conventions and promoting variety and inclusion. Creating history in the stage of Southern Leyte State University, the drag queens’ performance brought awe and power as every number projects fierceness and beauty, one after another. As the evening went on, the contagious enthusiasm of both performers and audience members created an exciting atmosphere. The drag performance by Espektro de Orgulyo was a monument to the transforming power of art, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who was lucky enough to see it. The Main Campus of Southern Leyte State University witnessed not only a performance, but a celebration of uniqueness and the infinite beauty of being oneself.
