SLSU-MCC Successfully Holds Two-day Pajama Talks
MAASIN CITY, SOUTHERN LEYTE—Representatives from different student organizations of Southern Leyte State University - Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) completes 'Pajama Talks,' a two-day Training on Safe Dialogue, Gender Awareness & Peace Building on the 19th and 20th day of February 2026, at the SLSU-MCC Audiovisual Room. The Supreme Student Council in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Tacloban and Rotaract Club of SLSU aims to develop emotional intelligence and gender sensitivity among student-leaders—enhancing leadership skills, efficient communication, and coordination.
The participants are comprised of the Supreme Student Council (SSC), PULSE Campus Publication, Junior Social Workers Association of The Philippines (JSWAP), Circle of Public Administration Students (CPAS) Peer Facilitators Circle, Espektro de Orgulyo (EDEO), Appointed Representatives of MCC Youth (ARMY), and guest participants from Rotaract Club of SLSU of Bontoc and Tomas Oppus campuses respectively.
Kicking off the activity is a seminar emphasizing emotional intelligence, integrity, confidentiality, and empathy when it comes to leadership. The afternoon session commences with topics on gender sensitivity. Moreover, the second day serves as an avenue for the participants to apply the learnings from the previous day through pitching an activity anchored to their organization's causes. In the end, each organizations are successful in presenting their ideas and are expected to implement the proposed activities by the next academic year.
Indeed, leadership trainings like 'Pajama Talks' truly shapes leadership skills among student leaders which can be vital as they contribute to the betterment of their communities in the future.
