The Southern Leyte State University - Maasin City Campus came alive on August 30, 2024, with a flurry of pink and ribbons and a great deal of excitement as it celebrated Panagkita 2024 under the creative theme of "Biniverse." Staff, faculty, and students all enjoyed the festive and sweet kick of the theme together, which highlights the value of campus community and camaraderie.
The celebration began with a hearty pantropikong feeling as Campus Director Dr. Frederick C. Aniga welcomed those in attendance and emphasized that the upcoming chapter will be full of incredible tales and the finest recollections of the youthful and dynamic academic community. Congresswoman Luz V. Mercado thanks the instructors, staff, and students of SLSU Maasin City Campus for a pleasant and welcoming setting. Grace and a cherry on top fill the school. The audience gets excited and feels like they're in the Biniverse as the freshmen students and officers of the Supreme Student Council perform Bini.
The inauguration of the new organizational officers, which signaled the start of a new era in SLSU student leadership, was one of the day's major highlights. In a somber ceremony, freshly elected executives from a variety of student organizations took the oath of office, assuming positions that will influence the future of the university. The air was charged with anticipation and hope for the upcoming year, full with promises of sustained success and vibrant leadership within the campus community, as they accepted their awards and tokens of appreciation.
The ceremony also had a moving side as it honored the departing Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers for their devoted service to the university during their term in office. At the recognition ceremony, these leaders received recognition for their leadership, contributions, and steadfast dedication to their fellow students. Their speeches emphasized the significance of service, resilience, and unity—core principles that reverberate throughout the dynamic "Biniverse" of SLSU-Maasin. They were gushing about their encounters and offering suggestions to the new leaders. The rest of the program was celebrated with loud music and grooves, since the night was still new. Dr. Magdaleno Samaco Jr., the faculty dean, gave a speech at the end of the event highlighting the importance of the activity in fostering stronger interpersonal ties and ensuring the availability of a secure and instructive learning environment.
