Hugyaw Festival at Southern Leyte State University kicked off with an incredible array of performances, lively music, and flying colors in the Multi Purpose Court of the Main Campus in Sogod, Southern Leyte. As part of the university's annual tradition, it honors historical accomplishments over the years and celebrates 20 years of offering high-quality education.The Hugyaw, which was attended by university teachers, staff, partners, and representatives of the arts and culture, was undoubtedly a festive occasion as everyone came together to commemorate SLSU's 20 years of service.
Held on March 07, 2024, all university campuses displayed artistic and cultural skills, with their presentations illustrating the history and life of SLSU. Students, instructors, and staff from SLSU's Maasin City campus graced the stage during a festival dance presentation. As the performance came to a close, the Ajonay, the Maasin trademark, and the life of a Maasinhon were also highlighted via energetic and joyful dancing. The audience erupted in cheers as the masterfully performed piece came to a close.
Performances graced the arena, showing the vibrant color of SLSU across places in Southern Leyte. Lastly, the university has high hopes for continuing to provide the best, and its 20th year of service marks an achievement and a sign of a rejuvenated start of more decades of passion and dedication for the love of SLSU.
