The Southern Leyte State University - Maasin City Campus officially opened the Academic Year 2025-2026 with a Convocation Ceremony held on August 11, 2025. The program began with a flag ceremony, marking the start of another year of learning and growth. This event warmly welcomed both continuing and first-year students as they embarked on a new chapter in their academic journeys.
Campus Director Dr. Frederick C. Aniga addressed the students with enthusiasm and warmth, assuring them of the university's commitment to providing quality education and making their college experience both meaningful and enjoyable. His message encouraged students to embrace challenges and seize the opportunities that the university offers. Following his address, there was a formal presentation of the various offices, faculty members, and staff, giving students a clear understanding of the dedicated individuals supporting the university's operations.
To add a lively element to the celebration, a unity dance involved students, faculty, and staff, symbolizing camaraderie and school spirit. Afterward, the Student Council officers led the first-year students on a campus tour, familiarizing them with the facilities, offices, and resources available. The day’s events not only marked the beginning of the school year but also reinforced a strong sense of community, unity, and excitement among the SLSU-Maasin City Campus family.
