The Public Administration Department, in collaboration with the Circle of Public Administration Students (CPAS ) proudly hosted a vibrant two-day celebration for Public Administration Day 2024, themed "Public Service in Action: Leading the Way to Climate Resilience and Sustainability" at Tagnipa Gym, Tagnipa Maasin City. This event not only showcased the spirit of community engagement but also emphasized the critical role of public service in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
The first-day festivities kicked off with an enthusiastic Clean-up Drive, where students actively participated in beautifying the surrounding areas. This initiative not only promoted environmental stewardship but also fostered a sense of community among participants. Following the clean-up, students enjoyed a series of friendly competitions, including volleyball matches, a Quiz Bee, and various parlor games. These activities encouraged teamwork and camaraderie.
The second day of the celebration featured a seminar hosted by the 3rd Year Section D, titled "The Role of Public Administration in Disaster Risk Management and Resilience." Led by esteemed guest speaker Caesar A. Gamboa, EMT, Assistant Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (DRRMO), and Operations and Warning Officer, the seminar provided valuable insights into how public administration plays a crucial role in mitigating disaster risks and enhancing community resilience. Students were equipped with knowledge of effective strategies to address climate challenges, reinforcing the seminar's alignment with the overall theme. The afternoon culminated in the "PA Day Got Talent" segment, where students showcased their diverse talents through performances ranging from singing, dancing, and poetry. This segment not only entertained but also illustrated the creativity and enthusiasm of the student body while emphasizing the significance of public service in fostering community spirit and resilience.
