The Southern Leyte State University Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) Beach Volleyball Team made waves in the University Games 2025, showcasing grit, teamwork, and athletic excellence as they advanced to the Championship Match against the Main Campus. Their impressive journey to the finals stands as a testament to the team’s dedication, perseverance, and strong fighting spirit.
Representing SLSU-MCC were dynamic players Leo Costillas and Andro Jaca, who displayed exceptional skill and chemistry throughout the tournament. Their precise serves, powerful spikes, and excellent defensive plays captivated the audience and earned the respect of their competitors. Each rally on the sand reflected their determination to give their all for the campus and their unwavering desire to bring pride to their team.
Guided by their ever-supportive coach, Mr. Aris Rex Espinas, the duo demonstrated excellent coordination, discipline, and strategy. Coach Espinas’s leadership and motivation inspired the players to maintain focus and composure, even in the face of tough opponents. His mentorship was instrumental in shaping their strong teamwork and competitive edge throughout the games.
