On March 28, 2025, Oscar-nominated and Grammy Award-winner, Ariana Grande – Butera, finally released the deluxe version of her 2024 album, Eternal Sunshine. The release of the deluxe version comes with a short film entitled Brighter Days Ahead which follows the character of Peaches from the “we can’t be friends (waiting for your love)” music video. Grande, in her element, portrays the older version of Peaches as she revisits the clinic, Brighter Days Inc. to try its new procedure, memory restoration. As Peaches undergoes the new service in the clinic, she traverses in time in a flashback frenzy to revisit old memories that were wiped from her memories from the previous music video. The new service offered by the clinic comes at a price. The memory restoration does allow Peaches to revisit and look back in the past, but the relived memories will be permanently erased after viewing. Giving Peaches the time to reflect and rekindle lost feelings that she intentionally deleted from her mind due to the pain from her lost love played by Evan Peters in the music video. All that is left is the state of solemnity, making her mind a rendezvous of healing.
The highly anticipated deluxe version of Eternal Sunshine features six new tracks from the Wicked actor herself. Fans are blessed to be given an extended version of intro (end of the world), twilight zone, warm, dandelion, past life, and Hampstead. Arianators are quick to point out the growth in the lyrics of Grande’s songs from her 2021 hit “pov” with the lyrics: “I like to see me from your point of view” to Hampstead with lyrics: “I'd rather be seen and alive than dying by your point of view.” Brighter Days Ahead reflects Grande’s perseverance in flourishing not just as an actor and a musician but as an individual. The Eternal Sunshine (AG7) Album is her barest album as she shows her fans her vulnerable side. In an interview with Variety, Grande stated that it’s a very special project. I’m out there so much right now. I want to let my children miss me for two seconds. I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head. It’s not the end of ‘Peaches’ just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute. The album is so concise, and I didn’t want to add songs just for the sake of it. The new tracks are short, but they really count.
Since the release of the deluxe version of the album, intro (end of the world) (extended) (lyric visualizer) has secured the 9th spot trending on YouTube for music, twilight zone (lyric visualizer) has also taken the 21st spot trending on YouTube for music, and Hampstead (lyric visualizer) on the 26th spot trending on YouTube for music. On Apple Music, Ariana became the cover on “A List Pop” with twilight zone as the lead track on the said playlist curated by Apple Music.
