Privacy Policy for "Social Pulse"
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This privacy policy explains the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing of personal data within the "Social Pulse" app.
2. Processed Data and Purposes
The "Social Pulse" app is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. To provide the app's features, we process the following data:
* Anonymous Authentication: The app uses Firebase Authentication (anonymous login). A device-specific, random User ID (UID) is generated to associate your profile (battery level, name, statistics) without requiring an email address or password.
* Profile and Usage Data: We store your voluntarily chosen display name, your randomly generated friend code, your "social battery level," and your statistics (e.g., streaks) in our database (Google Cloud Firestore) to synchronize this information with your authorized friends.
* Social Interactions: When you connect with friends (by entering their friend code), we store this connection as well as the history of "nudges" for display within the app.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process data:
* Google Analytics for Firebase & Firebase Crashlytics: To improve the app and fix bugs, we collect anonymized usage data and crash reports (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).
* Google Play Billing: For optional in-app purchases ("Coffee"), we use Google's payment system. We do not have access to your payment data (such as credit card numbers); these are processed exclusively by Google.
* Note: For more information on Google's privacy practices, please visit: https://policies.google.com/privacy
4. Data Security
Your data is stored securely on Google's servers (Firebase). Transmission is encrypted. Access to your data is restricted by strict security rules (Firestore Security Rules) so that only you and your explicitly added friends can read your profile data.
5. Deletion of Data
Since these are anonymous accounts, you can delete all local data by uninstalling the app or clearing the app data in your Android settings. To end friendships, you can use the corresponding feature within the app, which immediately deletes the connection on both devices from the database.
