Pulse Secure Download Ubuntu [TOP]

I am trying to understand why Pulse secure installed via Debian package is not starting at all.

I am able see it in the GUI menu, when clicked the Menu disappears and now the application should start, but it doesn't.

I have also tried to reinstall the Pulse Secure VPN (same version as listed above) following instructions from here after deleting the /usr/local/pulse and ~/.pulse_secure directories, but the issue persists. [Also tried filling the form given here but never received the download link of the latest client]

Thats creating a lot of heat in the comments even though from my POV the thing that was said here is that due to design and current resource/technological restraints deb is currently being at a lower priority, right ? seeing it as a way of indirectly killing deb may not go down well for image of ubuntu and canonical with both already facing quite heat(some legitimate and some reasonableness).

I have a windows 10 laptop that has a working VPN connection. I've used Hyper V to install ubuntu 16.04 and have it up and running. I've been trying to get the ubuntu 16.04 VM to use the host's vpn connection? Is it possible? I followed instructions given here which talks about how to get it going for a VM running IE browser. I'm unable to figure out how to set ubuntu 16.04 such that all traffic gets routed through the vpn and not just browser traffic.Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks @Princemachiavelli for the tip about openconnect. I ended up going on a rabbit hole and managed to get it to work based on this comment. It was stupidly simple and took all of 2 minutes as opposed to the 4 hours i wasted on trying to package pulse secure vpn client.

The pulse-cookie package looks pretty good and your packaging of it is pretty neat @erahhal. I started with no choices and now this thread has given me two choices and I am conflicted as I much prefer the Qt version over the selenium/Chromedriver version I got to work 2 days ago. Here is what I am using for reference,

1. Download the pulsesecure client off of -l109.engr.uiowa.edu/downloads/

2. Choose the latest version for your distro

a. Debian/Ubuntu: -l109.engr.uiowa.edu/downloads/PulseSecure-lnx64.deb

b. Centos/RHEL: -l109.engr.uiowa.edu/downloads/PulseSecure-lnx64.rpm

Our IT department had little to no issue setting this up, and I haven't encountered any problem with using it for the past 5 years. We previously used another company for VPN and it was much slower, so overall, this was a welcome change for the better. The VPN offers threat control and application level reinforcement. You can also control the device at the operating system level.What do you dislike about the product?Sometimes it does take an extended period of time to connect to the VPN. Every once in a while, I randomly get kicked off and have no idea why. Dual authentication can be annoying. Our organization requires a message sent to our phones with a code for login. It's just an annoying extra step that is more trouble than it's worth.
