Privacy Policy for Pulse Launcher
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Pulse Launcher (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is an Android home screen launcher developed by AppForge. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Pulse Launcher.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Pulse Launcher is designed to function primarily on your device. We do not require user account creation, and we do not sell your personal data.
Depending on the features you choose to enable, the app may request access to or process the following data:
Installed Applications: Used to construct your app drawer, organize home screen shortcuts, and launch apps.
Contacts: Optional. Used strictly to allow quick contact shortcuts or features directly on your home screen.
Approximate Location: Optional. Used solely to fetch and display local weather updates on your home screen or widgets.
Photos & Media (Photo Picker / system file picker): Optional. Used to let you select custom wallpapers or home screen images. Wallpaper selection does not require All files access.
All Files Access (Files hub): Optional. Used only for the Files hub so you can search, open, filter, and pin shortcuts to documents, media, archives, and other files on your device’s shared storage — similar to a file-manager feature on your home screen. Pulse does not upload, sell, or share your files with third parties for this feature. Files you pin or open stay on your device unless you choose to open them in another app.
Notifications (Notification Access): Optional. Used to display notification badges and count indicators on app icons.
Accessibility Services: Optional. Used solely to perform user-requested launcher gestures, such as pulling down the notification shade, locking the screen, or opening Recent Apps. We do not use Accessibility Services to collect sensitive personal data or monitor user activity.
App Settings & Preferences: Stored locally on your device to remember your custom layouts, themes, icon sizes, and configuration settings.
2. Internet Usage & Third-Party Services
Pulse Launcher requires internet access for limited, specific app functionalities:
Weather Updates: Fetching current local weather data (using your approximate location or general IP address).
Feature Content: Loading, updating, or syncing launcher assets and features.
Google Play Billing: Processing in-app purchases or subscriptions for premium features. All billing is handled directly through Google Play Services; we never receive or store your credit card or financial details.
Third-party service providers (such as weather APIs or Google Play Services) process only the minimal data required to fulfill these specific requests.
3. Data Storage & Sharing
Local Storage: Your preferences, settings, home screen configurations, and Files hub pinned shortcuts remain stored locally on your device.
No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or device data to advertisers or third parties.
Service Providers: Network requests (such as weather lookups) are routed only to the relevant third-party endpoints necessary to provide the service.
Files: Content accessed through All files access / the Files hub is processed on-device for search, open, and pin features. We do not transmit your file contents to our servers.
4. Permissions & User Control
All sensitive permissions in Pulse Launcher are optional.
You will be prompted to grant permissions only when enabling features that require them (for example, All files access when you open the Files hub).
You can grant, deny, or revoke any permission at any time via your device’s Android Settings > Apps > Pulse Launcher > Permissions (and for All files access, also via Special app access > All files access).
Disabling certain permissions may prevent specific features (like the weather widget, contact shortcuts, or the Files hub) from functioning.
5. Children’s Privacy
Pulse Launcher is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
