Muhammad (ﷺ) Mercy for the Whole World

MAC Youth Department invites all youth to showcase their talents to showcase how the Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) was a Mercy for the Whole World.

Two Options:

1) Creative Design

• Demonstrate how the Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) was a Mercy for the Whole World using any media (e.g., poem, spoken word, powerpoint, video, short story, website, blog, vlog, brochure, drawing, painting, etc). *Without depicting the Prophet.

or

1) Essay Writing

• This Is an opportunity for youth to gather information, synthesize new concepts and articulate their ideas with clarity and purpose, by writing an essay (500 - 1000 words) about one of the topics below.

• Following the example of our Prophet (ﷺ) includes seeking to identify the injustices and trying to change them. The Covid-19 pandemic has allowed us to see many injustices that were perhaps invisible before. Some of the issues revealed a moral blind spot in our society.

• Write an essay about any one of the topics below and explain how the example of the Prophet (ﷺ) would help address the problem you selected.

• How can the prophetic methods be used to help tackle the injustices uncovered during the pandemic? Explore how the Prophet Muḥammad(ﷺ) and the message that he brought is a Mercy for the Whole World.

  • Treatment of the elderly: Old-age homes contributed to the isolation of the elderly. Trace the footsteps of the Prophet (ﷺ) and reflect on how he positioned the eldery in society.

  • Destruction of the environment: Provide a critique of the way modern day consumerism/consumption helped create the environmental catastrophe of today, and propose how we can reduce our carbon-footprint to reduce this destruction. Reflect on how the Prophet (ﷺ) cared for the environment.

  • Systemic biases and racism: provide an outline of how the Prophet(ﷺ) eliminated systemic biases within his society, and then project that onto our societes reality and propose a path for building a more just society by eliminating forms of biases and racism.

  • Pick your own topic - Choose one of the issues you see around you and explore how the Prophet would have tackled that problem.
