virtual Career Day 2021

To be held: WEDNESDAY, february 24, 2021

All Speaker videos must be submitted by February 19

Thank you for your interest in Career Day 2021

Thank you for supporting Career Day, when Eighth Graders can explore a variety of careers and jobs, and it's all possible with YOUR help. This year will be different from previous years as we are going virtual. Speakers will be able to record their presentation on their own schedule, so it will be available for students to view from home during the actual event. NOTE: this is not a Zoom conference; presentations will be recorded and submitted prior to the actual event.

Link for 2021 is live! Speakers are welcome to sign up now!

If you've volunteered before, you recall preparing a presentation, probably with slides, to speak for 15-20 minutes and then allow a few minutes for Q&A. For our Virtual Career Day, we are asking speakers to record up to 10 minute presentations (maximum time allowed is 10 minutes); instructions, samples, and tips are below. As always, how and what you present are up to you, but this medium will allow you to take us on tour, be interviewed, or show us "a day in the life" if you wish.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Completed videos should be submitted by February 19, 2021.

  • Videos can be recorded on any device with a camera and microphone; once you sign up you will receive an email with simple instructions

  • Looking for lots of details on what to include in your video? General Info & Best Practices

  • Wondering what your presentation should look like? Once you sign up you will be able to see videos currently on the MMW Career Day FlipGrid

  • For more information or questions, contact the Career Day Committee.

NON-SPEAKER VOLUNTEERS: We thank you for your help in the past, and look forward to working with you in the future. With this year's virtual environment, we will not require volunteers on the day of. Please consider joining the committee (email us) or come back here next year, when everything is back to normal!
