FAQ

Have questions? Take a look at our FAQ's below, and if your questions are not answered, please don't hesitate to contact us!

What is a typical class like?

Each class, we like to start with a quick get-to-know-each-other show and tell. Then, we warm-up and improv to some of our favorite songs, as requested by the students, which is followed by learning a new dance or enjoying a fun YouTube follow-along video (yoga, hula, you name it!). We like to make any necessary modifications to our class as we get to know the dancers, especially regarding involvement and skill. We try our best to make everyone feel included and have fun!

What day and what time is class?

Currently, there are three different classes that take place over Zoom:

Hip hop/Kpop: Wednesdays 7:00-7:30 PM (EST)

Choreography: Saturdays 6:30-7:00 PM (EST)

Ballet/Yoga: Sundays 7:00-7:30 PM (EST)

If you are unable to make it to these class times, please let us know so we can suggest other options to help you stay involved with this dance class!

What are the instructors' credentials?

Instructors are high school school students that have taken regular dance classes since a very young age. Despite not having professional degrees, instructors have accumulated a large amount of dance knowledge throughout their years of training. Furthermore, instructors have a wide range of previous experience working with kids in tutoring, babysitting, and dance instruction. Instructors also regularly research methods for communicating with and teaching children with special needs.

Will my child be able to keep up in dance class?

Yes, absolutely! Our dance class is specifically for children with special needs and is open to kids with all levels of dance ability. Our dance class will focus on the most basic movements and stretches to help improve motor skills, enhance emotional expression, and develop relationships with others. Our class will start with teaching basic and fundamental movements and we will make sure nobody falls behind!

Are classes in-person or on Zoom?

Classes are currently on Zoom. In these unprecedented times, we value the health and safety of our students above all. Online classes also help us to welcome students from all around the world! We hope that we can make our classes in-person sometime in the future.

How much do classes cost?

Classes are completely free - we wanted to provide an opportunity for everyone to be able to enjoy without worrying about financial investments.

Are there age requirements to sign up for class?

All students ages 13 and under are welcome! For interested dancers who are over 13 years old, please contact us via email for accommodations; we might have a separate class for other age groups based on enrollment.

Who is allowed to join classes?

We welcome all children with special needs, and anyone else who is interested in our class!
