Look around Bulldogs! The saying is true...April showers DO bring May flowers! It's that special (albeit brief) window of time where the hills that surround us are vibrant green with waves of wildflowers in bloom. Make sure you take some time to enjoy it because just like this school year, it will be gone before you know it! Did I mention it's MAY?!? The countdown is ON!
Before we get into it, here's some numbers for you:
Total PTA members: 212
As of the time of this writing, our grand total for all general fundraising is over $50,828.62! (does not include monthly Kona Ice amounts or McTeacher night cookie sales)
State testing kicked off last month and will continue through the month of May. PTA has purchased over ONE THOUSAND small snacks to provide our scholars a little extra 'brain food' and special treat to look forward to every day they are testing!
As I said in last month's newsletter, May is BUSY. Lots of good stuff on the horizon! And lots of opportunities to volunteer! If you're interested in helping with any of the MANY activities coming up, or you have any questions about PTA or our scheduled events, please send me an email at glenviewbulldogspta@gmail.com.

¡Mira a tu alrededor, Bulldogs! El dicho es cierto... ¡Las lluvias de abril traen flores de mayo! Es esa ventana de tiempo especial (aunque breve) en la que las colinas que nos rodean son de un verde vibrante con olas de flores silvestres en flor. ¡Asegúrate de tomarte un tiempo para disfrutarlo porque, al igual que este año escolar, desaparecerá antes de que te des cuenta! ¿¡¿Mencioné que es MAYO?!? ¡La cuenta regresiva está en marcha!
Antes de entrar en detalles, aquí hay algunos números para usted:
Total de miembros de la PTA: 212
Al momento de escribir este artículo, ¡nuestro total general para toda la recaudación de fondos general es de más de $50,828.62! (no incluye cantidades mensuales de Kona Ice ni ventas de galletas nocturnas de McTeacher)
Las pruebas estatales comenzaron el mes pasado y continuarán hasta el mes de mayo. ¡La PTA ha comprado más de MIL refrigerios pequeños para brindarles a nuestros estudiantes un poco más de 'alimento para el cerebro' y un regalo especial que esperan cada día que estén examinando!
Como dije en el boletín del mes pasado, mayo está OCUPADO. ¡Muchas cosas buenas en el horizonte! ¡Y muchas oportunidades para ser voluntario! Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal
Familias, les invitamos a unirse a nosotros la semana del lunes al viernes, 6-10 de mayo para celebrar a nuestros maravillosos maestros y personal.
Lunes, 6 de mayo: Lleva o trae algo rojo o naranja para tu maestro o personal.
Martes, 7 de mayo: Lleva o trae algo amarillo o verde para tu profesor.
Miércoles, 8 de mayo: Lleva o trae algo azul o morado para tu maestro o personal.
Jueves, 9 de mayo: Lleva o trae algo de color arco iris para tu maestro o personal.
Viernes, 10 de mayo: Lleva o trae algo de color neón para tu maestro o personal.
Last year, with generous donations from our Glenview community, we were able to buy new microwaves and Keurigs for our teachers and staff. With those funds, we've also been able to keep the staff lounge stocked with coffee pods and creamer, tea, and hot cocoa THIS WHOLE YEAR! Great job Bulldogs! We would like to maintain this gift for the following year by continuing to provide all the fixin's for their Caffeination Station. We'd also like to add a filtered water dispenser so that they can stay well hydrated. By pooling our resources, we can make this happen!
If you're interested in contributing to this project, please make checks payable to Glenview PTA (please write 'staff lounge' in the check’s memo). You can deliver your contribution to the main office, your student's teacher, or any member of the PTA board. We will be collecting contributions for the entire month of May. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Daily Breakfast/Lunch Menus: If you'd like to stay up to date on the daily menus being offered at the school, you can sign up to receive the school breakfast and lunch menus via email each month. You'll also get emails notifying you of last minute menu changes (we've had a lot of them this year due to food supply issues). The website is www.pylusdnutrition.org - go to the Menu drop down and select Menus. Sign up for the menu emails by clicking on the "Going Green! Menus logo" in the upper right corner.
