Privacy Policy for PolyTrack Friends Shared Leaderboard

PolyTrack Friends Shared Leaderboard is a browser extension that allows PolyTrack players to share personal-best times, leaderboard rankings, online status, player profiles, room statistics, and temporary room-chat messages.

Information collected

The extension may collect and process:

• The username entered into the extension

• PolyTrack personal-best times

• PolyTrack leaderboard rankings

• The track currently being viewed

• Online status and last-seen time

• Room-chat messages

• Room codes used to connect players

• Extension preferences, including themes and settings

The extension does not intentionally collect real names, email addresses, passwords, payment information, health information, precise location, or general browsing history.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide the extension’s features, including:

• Synchronising shared room leaderboards

• Displaying player profiles and track results

• Showing whether room members are online

• Providing room statistics

• Delivering temporary room-chat messages

• Remembering extension preferences

The extension only reads PolyTrack page information required for these features.

Local storage

Some information is stored locally using Chrome extension storage or browser session storage, including:

• Username preference

• Theme and theme customisation

• Selected track

• Automatic PB-upload preference

• Room-statistics preference

• The active room code for the current browser tab

This information is used only to maintain extension settings and room connectivity.

Firebase

The extension uses Google Firebase Realtime Database to synchronise information between users in the same room.

Information sent to Firebase may include:

• Username

• PB times

• Leaderboard rankings

• Track identifiers

• Online presence and last-seen timestamps

• Temporary chat messages

• Room information

Firebase is operated by Google and processes this information as a service provider. Information is transmitted using HTTPS. Firebase provides its own privacy and security documentation.

Chat-message retention

Room-chat messages automatically expire after approximately two minutes. Connected extension clients attempt to remove expired messages from Firebase.

Leaderboard-data retention

Player leaderboard records may remain in Firebase until:

• the player is removed from the room;

• the room is deleted; or

• the database administrator removes the information.

Sharing of information

User information is shared only:

• with other players connected to the same room;

• with Firebase as required to operate the extension; or

• when required by law.

Information is not sold to advertisers or other third parties.

Data security

The extension uses HTTPS when communicating with Firebase. Firebase access is controlled by Firebase Realtime Database Security Rules, which determine which database operations are permitted.

No internet service can guarantee complete security. Users should avoid entering private or sensitive information as their username or in room chat.

User choices and deletion

Users can:

• disable remembering their username;

• disable automatic PB uploads;

• leave a room;

• delete chat messages by waiting for their automatic expiry;

• ask a room administrator to remove their player profile;

• delete a room using the extension’s room-management feature.

Children’s privacy

The extension is intended only to provide game leaderboard and communication features. Users should not share personal information through usernames or room chat.

Limited Use disclosure

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The extension collects, uses, and transfers user data only as necessary to provide its disclosed features and related security and operational functions.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the extension’s features or data practices change. The latest version will be published at the same public URL.
