RECENT EVENTS
Friday April 25th 2025; ‘Bringing Out the Dead’ (1999) by Martin Scorsese introduced by Ben Taylor at Venue Peterborough Eco Innovation Centre: Bringing Out the Dead is a haunting exploration of the toll of trauma and burnout on a dedicated New York City paramedic, Frank Pierce. Nicolas Cage delivers a powerful performance as Frank, a man consumed by his job and haunted by the countless lives he's failed to save. The film delves into themes of compassion fatigue, moral injury, and the blurred lines between life and death. Bringing Out the Dead offers a raw and unflinching portrayal of mental health struggles, particularly in professions that involve constant exposure to trauma. It invites viewers to consider the impact of such work on individuals and the importance of seeking help.
All screenings are free for all CPFT staff, associated professionals and anyone interested in exploring mental health in a friendly safe environment. Soft drinks and snacks will be provided at the venue. Following the film there is time for further discussion.
The group is kindly sponsored by Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust as an educational resource for staff and those with a shared interest in supporting mental health
