Privacy Policy for Jaap Counter

PS TechWorks (we) built the Jaap Counter app as a Free/Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by PS TechWorks at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

1. Information Collection and Use 

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Jaap Counter does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.

2. Anonymous Authentication & Cloud Sync 

To provide features like the Global Sangha (community counter) and seamless cloud backups, Jaap Counter uses Google Firebase Anonymous Authentication. When you open the app, a random, invisible "Anonymous ID" is generated for your device. This ID is used strictly to save your chanting statistics to the cloud so you don't lose your progress. This ID is entirely anonymous and cannot be traced back to your real identity.

3. Local Device Data (Audio Recordings) 

Jaap Counter allows you to record custom audio mantras. These voice recordings are saved strictly locally on your physical device. We do not upload, listen to, or store your voice recordings on our servers or the cloud. If you uninstall the app, these local audio files are permanently deleted from your phone.

4. Third-Party Services 

The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device for basic app functionality and crash reporting. Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app:

5. Data Deletion 

Because we do not collect personal information (like emails or names), there is no personal account to delete. If you wish to erase your anonymous cloud data and local chanting history, you can simply press the "Delete Account & Data" button inside the app's Profile section, or uninstall the app from your device.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy 

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
