What is a SMARTE Goal?
Specific: Focused, narrow, and targeted to a particular coachee's practice/program and states precisely what the coachee will accomplish.
Measurable: Can be observed or assessed to determine that the goal has been met; fact-based (not judgment or opinion); doesn't include adjectives or adverbs used as descriptors. Here's a helpful document for determining if your goal is measurable vs. not measurable
Attainable: Makes us stretch but is still achievable by coachee (what is the coachee's zone of proximal development?)
Realistic: Coachee will accomplish within a given timeline
Timely: Has a deadline by which it will be accomplished, which supports accountability and commitment; helps determine what is needed to be done to be successful
Equitable: Flexible to promote equity and ensures every child gets what they need to thrive daily; addresses needs of children not succeeding, whose needs are not being met or who are seen as outside of the sphere of success. The purpose of the E is to bring awareness and focus to children who need additional supports.

Outcome: Consider what the best outcome would be and what it would feel like
Obstacle: Identify an internal obstacle that could prevent you from achieving your goal
Plan: Create an action plan to overcome the obstacle

PACT goals are often used for long-term goals and focus on outputs that are under the goal-setter's control. They can be a good way to create a clear plan of action and start working towards a goal right away.
Purposeful: Your goal should be meaningful to your long-term purpose in life, not just relevant to you right now.
Actionable: Your goal should be actionable and controllable.
Continous: It’s important that the actions you take towards your goal are simple and repeatable
Trackable: Not measurable. Stats can be overrated and don’t apply to lots of different types of goals
