LOCAL TRANSPORTATION 

Airport connections: Humberto Delgado's Airport, only 7km away from the center of Lisbon, is the international gateway of the city, with flights departing and arriving from almost anywhere in the world. It is connected to the center and to the IST both via bus (Aerobus) and Metro (red line). 

Train and coach stations: the main train station in Lisbon is Gare do Oriente which is connected to the city center and IST both via bus and via Metro (red line). The main coach stations are the terminal close to Gare do Oriente and the terminal placed in Sete Rios. The first is connected very well to the center via the Metro (red line), and the second one is close to the Metro station Jardim Zoologico (blue line).

Public transportation: in Lisbon, there are four Metro lines which grant rapid connections between most parts of the city. There are two metro stations close to IST: Saldanha (red and yellow lines) and Alameda (green and red lines). The ticket can be bought inside any Metro station. It works from 6.30 a.m. to 1.00 a.m.. There are also many bus lines connecting the city (for more information it is possible to use Google Maps or the bus company's official website http://www.carris.pt/en/home/).

Taxi Companies: Taxis in Lisbon are available everywhere at any time and normally the fare is quite cheap. For example from the airport to IST it should be less than 10€ during the day, a bit more during the night.

It is possible to bring people not registered to the conference (please send us an email before Friday 3rd November). The conference dinner will cost at most 45€ (details about the menu will be given later on).

On the campus of Alameda (where the meeting will be held) there are many canteens with low-price menus. Otherwise, around Instituto Superior Técnico, there are many bars and restaurants with good quality food and generally menu at reasonable prices.
