The University of Michigan's chapter of Psi Chi was founded in 1982. Membership in Psi Chi is an earned honor which lasts for life. A permanent record of each inductee's membership is preserved at the Psi Chi National Office and may be used for future reference purposes such as applications for graduate schools and jobs.
In order to become a lifetime member of Psi Chi, the University of Michigan chapter requires a one-time fee of $80. Most of this is sent to the National Psi Chi Office, while a minimal amount is used for University of Michigan Chapter activities. Financial assistance is available as needed and upon request to umpsichi@gmail.com. There are no annual national or chapter dues.
Those who are active members in Psi Chi upon graduation are eligible to receive and wear honor cords at graduation events.
