The Just Energy breakout session will be an interactive, “bottom-up” storytelling activity that will last an hour and a half. We will ground this activity in creating a safe and vulnerable space for attendees to share their personal stories on how energy has shown up in their own life, and in the lives of their community. This will be a space to share personal experiences of how attendees have seen energy “work” in their daily lives, and how energy service has affected them negatively or positively.
In this last installment of the series, youth leaders will be able to share some inspiring stories of the good they have seen and the changes that are already being born. Additionally, we will all hear from Nathaniel Q. Smith, the Founder and Chief Equity Officer of Partnership for Southern Equity as he imparts some wisdom on us all to go forth and be the change we want to see in the world.
During this virtual conversation, youth leaders from around the southeast will give their 'reports from the field' about what they have seen and experienced in the wake of COVID-19. What does their community look like? What equity issues have been exacerbated by the pandemic? What action (or lack thereof) have city and state governments taken to slow the spread?
