In 2023, the Washington State Legislature passed 2SHB 1559, which mandated and funded navigator positions at all public two- and four-year colleges. This initiative builds on a broader statewide strategy to address students’ basic needs as a means to ensure that 70 percent of adults ages 25 to 44 earn a postsecondary credential.
