Students in Grades K-2 visit the library weekly. They work on literacy skills aligned to Common Core standards and explore topics including: story elements, facts & opinions, fiction and nonfiction, research, and STEM.
Students in Grades 3-5 have the opportunity to visit the library during a weekly Open Access period and they are able to reserve books using our school library website.
Borrowing Books:
Students in Grades K-2 can borrow one book per week
Students in Grades 3-5 can borrow two books for two weeks
Unlimited renewals with a maximum of five checked out books at a time

Students in Grades 3-5 visit the Media Center on a weekly basis.
Grade 3: Students learn and strengthen their typing skills using Typing Club
Grade 4: Students work on digital literacy and research skills producing several research projects throughout the year
Grade 5: Students work with NYC First to learn about robotics
Mrs. Chanel Brown-Legon is the Media Studies Teacher at PS 452 teaching library and technology skills to students in Grades K-5.
Mrs. Brown-Legon has taught at PS 452 for the past 8 years, in the roles of a Fourth-Grade Special Education teacher and the Media Studies teacher.
