NYC 2024 School Survey image

2024 NYC School Survey

Every year, NYC Public Schools asks all families, teachers, and staff in grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6-12 to take the NYC School Survey. The survey gives school leaders a better understanding of what members of their school community think about their school. The information collected by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn.

Complete your survey here: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/nycdoe/login?language=en or through your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA).

NYC Mandated Social- Emotional Screener DESSA Screener

As shared in the Mayoral and Chancellor announcement in December 2020, the NYCDOE is planning for the implementation of a strengths-based, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) screener in the 2021-2022 school year.  The  Screener is to identify and support the social-emotional growth of all children in our school, we are excited to be administering a strengths-based SEL screener, known as the Devereaux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA). The DESSA asks questions about areas of social-emotional functioning including decision making, relationship building, confidence, and others.

All students  at P.S. 195 will use their DOE student account via TeachHub. TeachHub allows students to access several apps, such as Google Classroom, Zoom, MyON, and more.

The DOE student accounts end in @nycstudents.net. The Department of Education has created accounts for every student, so schools no longer need to have separate accounts. Your DOE student account is used from Pre-K all the way through the end of high school.

Please help your child log into their new account by following the steps in the letter attached. You should have received your child’s username (email) and password from the classroom teacher via ClassTag. If not, please reach out to Mrs. McBean or Mrs. Casale.

Important: Once you are signed into Google Classroom (using the DOE account), you will see your child's Google Classroom already assigned to you. This will help your child get ready for the new school year. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE STUDENT'S PASSWORDS.
