THE CASE: A guard dog, owned by an elderly neighbor, attacked an killed a teenager. The boy and his friends had a record of harassing the man. The Prosecution argued that the dog's owner was responsible for the boy's death. The Defense, well, defended the accused. The students presented the entire case before a real Judge and jury - including attorneys, witnesses, court officers, exhibits, testimony, objections and summary arguments. As you'll see, each student participant dressed appropriately for the role. An unforgettable day for us all.

The proceedings ended with the judge sharing inside stories of her work with juvenile offenders - and her personal journey from the mean streets of La Puente as a little girl to an appointment as a Federal Judge, appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
