The team of Analysts are responsible for a comparative analysis on Christmas in UK, USA, and Spain.

What are the similarities and differences in celebration of Christmas in these countries?

Analysts are the technical support for the group and your task is to also add content on the website (the assignment the other teams prepare), and help out with the project delivery (make sure projector is up and running, all videos or slides work, etc.)

NAVIDAD EN REINO UNIDOEn Reino Unido las personas celebran Navidad. Ellos están ensperado la llegada de San Nicolás y abren regalos solamente el día siguiente. Los británicos creen en Santa.La cocina navideña britanica hasta puede soprender : cabeza de cerdo al horno, pan navideño, pastel de la suerte. Por supuesto, todos los briticános están cantando la cancíon «cascabeles».Reino Unido consiste de muchos países y en cada país existen sus tradiciones. En Escocia los niños cuelgan los calcentines mientras esperan sus regalos y dejan golosinas para Santa. En el norte de Gales celebran sólo Navidad y en el sur de Gales los habitantes celebran Navidad y Año Nuevo. En Irlanda de Norte, en Noche Buena el miembro más joven de la familia enciende una vela para simbolizar la hospitalidad en casa.La Navidad se celebra en todo Reino Unido. En esta época todos se divierten, todods están descansando, y a pesar de que en cada parte de Reino Unido la gente celebra Navidad de diferentes maneras, todos aman esta fiesta.Stanislav Gilfanov

Después de la celebración del 8 de diciembre el día de la Inmaculada Virgen María en España, todo está impregnado de un tema navideño. A partir de ese día, se instalan árboles de Navidad y cerezos en todo el país.Nochebuena en España se celebra generalmente en el círculo familiar. Los familiares se reúnen alrededor de la mesa festiva con una gran cantidad de platos, vino y todo tipo de postres. Los platos tradicionales de Navidad en España dependen en gran medida de la región, pero el pavo Trufado de Navidad ( pavo con trufa) es uno de los platos principales típicos. En Navidad, una gran variedad de postres cubren las mesas de toda España. Estos postres auténticos y tradicionales son verdaderos tesoros, con almendras, miel, chocolate y fruta.La Nochebuena se celebra en España el 24 de diciembre. En la mayoría de los hogares, especialmente donde hay niños, es una noche muy fabulosa cuando Papá Noel (papá Noel – la contraparte española de Papá Noel) trae regalos a todos los niños.. Al día siguiente, el 25 de diciembre, España, al igual que otros países católicos, celebra la Navidad.El 26 de diciembre, los niños escriben cartas a los tres reyes, pidiendo juguetes y regalosLos españoles generalmente no se dan regalos el día de Navidad. Los regalos se dan el 6 de enero en la fiesta de Los tres reyes. Entre todos los regalos de Navidad, una variedad de dulces que están en primer lugar. Pequeños puestos de madera llenos de recuerdos, dulces, decoraciones navideñas y juguetes aparecen en las plazas centrales de cada ciudad a principios de diciembre. Happy Christmas vs Feliz Navidad

1. A real tree vs. a fake treeIn the United States, many people love to put up a real tree. There is no Christmas without a real tree. There are places all over that sell them. Your living room has this wonderful smell of pine. Ah Christmas. The bad part of this is that we cut down a lot of trees every year. How wasteful is that?However, in Spain, no one has a real tree. Yes, people put up trees. However, they are always fake trees. Sure, some people in the United States put up a fake tree as well. Well in Spain, everyone does.
2. Who bears the gifts to childrenDo you all remember the Three Wisemen? In the United States they’re not really that important. Santa brings presents.In Spain, however, it’s quite different. Traditionally the Three Wisemen have a pretty major role in the Christmas story. They have names: Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar. Spaniards believe that they are the ones who bring children gifts rather than Santa Claus. However, thanks to capitalism and the whole world watching American movies, Santa Claus now also brings children presents. They call him Papa Noel. One of my students told me that Papa Noel brings them small presents and the Three Wisemen bring them large presents.
3. Teacher gifts don’t really seem to be a thingIn the United States, it’s customary for children to bring their teachers some sort of a card or present. Teachers work hard and it’s simply nice to be appreciated.However in Spain, I’ve noticed that children don’t bring in Christmas gifts for their teachers.
4. The 24th is bigger than the 25thChristmas Eve is called La Noche Buena in Spain. Everyone gets together and has a big celebration. Families and friends dine together. No one misses this night. Then on the 25th, people get together but it’s not quite as obligatory.In the United States, it’s basically the opposite. 24^th is just a family dinner, chilling at home movies and enjoying time together. Then on December 25th, families always has a big celebration. All of cousins, aunts and uncles get together for a big dinner.
6. Christmas cookies are less commonOne of the favorite things to do around Christmas time is make cookies. I’m talking the dough that you roll out. You have cute little cookie-cutters of trees, stockings, bells and other Christmas things. Then to top it all off, there is icing with milk and powdered sugar. In the United States, every shop has holiday cookie cutters. In Spain because it’s less common, it’s harder to find.
