We have a dead vCenter. Utterly dead. I'm rebuilding vCenter and will add the hosts into the new vCenter. The complication comes in with the distributed virtual switch with iSCSI vmks. Each host has a proxy switch (the offline copy of the dvs), so the hosts can see its iSCSI storage. We wont be able to export the DVS config from the dead vCenter, so I will have to migrate each hosts networking and iSCSI storage adapter to a standard switch, build a new DVS, and migrate the hosts over to that. All without the hosts losing network or storage connectivity. Each host has two iSCSI VMKs with a NIC associated with each on the DVS

One way would be to place the Network Proxy app in your gnome panel. Just left-click and drag System->Preferences->Network Proxy and drop it on your gnome panel somewhere. Create proxy profiles in the Network Proxy application by clicking "Location->New Location" and defining each proxy profile (each of them will have a unique name in the Location drop down menu). It should then take very few clicks to switch between network proxies.

I work at a company and from home too using my laptop running Ubuntu Linux. The code is in a github repo. At company I access the network via a http proxy while at home there is no proxy. How to git push/pull in such cases? How to tell git to use proxy when at company and not to use proxy when at home?

I skimmed the source code of Proxy Switchy. It is mainly written in Javascript/HTML, but uses an external binary bundle to do proxy switching. Is this scheme doable in Safari extension? If not, is there other way to manage proxy settings in the extension?

I am having exactly same question although it is almost 2016 already and I am using Safari 9.0.2. It seems that Apple does not provide such an API for defining browser-specific proxy in extensions as Google does for Chrome. So I guess one would have to deal with system-wide proxy settings, that is to find solutions for setting up app-specific proxy.

Most likely your current location is set as 'Automatic'. Choose "Edit Locations ..." in the selection menu, and add additional Proxy Locations. For each Location you can setup different proxy settings, which you can switch directly from the apple menu. Just make sure you edit the correct Network Interface on which you want to apply the proxy settings (if you are connected through LAN, but you set the proxy only on Wifi - it wouldn't work).

I am having issues getting a reponder policy to work when asigned to my content switch vServer ( Its acting as a proxy so using the proxy protocol type ). I am trying to deny certain traffic using a reponder policy to drop the request.

Going back to basics: does the OP's vserver actually NEED to be of type proxy? A veserver of type proxy is used for very specific purposes. If it's really just an HTTP vserver (and yes, the way Netscaler / Citrix ADC works, the vserver always acts as a proxy), then HTTP would work just fine.... and that would allow the rewrite to work ok.

Hi, I think I understand what you mean. I'll try explain more clearly as i'm not exactly experienced in this field. What i'm trying to setup is to have multiple devices connecting to the switch and then be able to have each port using a different proxy so each device connected will have a different public ip address via proxies. Is it possible? Thank you

When I faced such problems, I always used Google. It is full of different instructions. You cannot always help people from the Forum, and sometimes even incorrectly suggest, and you will break everything yourself. Although, I see here people sensible sit. So, I recently decided to try switching from VPN to proxy servers. In my opinion, it is safer, and not so much Internet traffic is spent, so my friend said when he read an interesting article about proxy servers on this site Maybe I did not write on the topic, but my experience of using it tells me that there are switches on all devices.

Hi! I have a network in which i'll deploy a proxy server I'm configuring for content filtering, but i'll need to access some websites that are in an extranet that has another firewall. Tried to install a network interface to connect to this extranet and then redirect the packages to/from those sites to it, but it does not work because of the proxy config that is necessary to connect to this extranet, and by setting this proxy the rest of the internet that isn't inside that proxy is no longer accessible. The goal here is to access the two networks (internal and external) without changing the proxy settings.

I've tried cache hierarchy on squid but with no luck - maybe i didn't got the configuration right.

Also researching Proxy Auto-Config, but with no idea on how to start.

Anyone already did something like that?

OR if you use chromium just install Switchy ( ) & feed it the details for both proxies & click the relevant one you want to access at that time (bear in mind the proxy switch will affect the whole browser & it's child processes so you won't be able to have 2 tabs using different proxies)

If proxy_file_name does not include an explicit path, the file is written to the current directory or to the directory specified by the /out switch. An explicit path in proxy_file_name overrides the /out switch specification.

I am trying to access my switch through my Nginx reverse proxy. I can access the switch fine using the local ip over http, but when I try with the domain name through my reverse proxy with over https, I can get the login page, but when I enter my credentials and click login the page times out (error 502). The issue seems to be with the logon.cgi page.

@laf, I probably did not explain this very well. In the transport.api.php file, in order to get the transport to work correctly I need to set it as a GET request and comment out set_curl_proxy($curl);. When I comment out this file I get an error when running the daily.sh script. To work around that error, I added transport.api.php to .gitignore.

I believe that 1920s is supposed to be able to use ARP proxy. But what I read about 1920s seems to be able to ARP proxy only in betwen subnets set directly on the unit. Is that right or is there a chance to make my configuration work?

Suddenly, in new FF 27, when I manually set a proxy, it goes off (goes back to "No proxy") when I switch tabs or open a new tab. It used to stay on until I turned it off. I want it to stay on across all tabs until I turn it off, as it used to do. Also, I have this problem whether or not I use Quick Proxy.

Cor-el - I just did a reset and did NOT re-install any add-ons dealing with proxies. But same symptoms. If I manually turn on a proxy, it works if I don't leave the tab I'm in. But if i go to another tab or start a new tab, the proxy is turned off goes back to "No proxy".What to do?

My thought is that a proxy item should only really update based on one trigger and then it has far more options to control within the next rule, or should a DP Proxy item reall yonly be updated after all the multi if cases are met?

Coming from Cisco, proxy arp is enabled by default on switches. I understand that on juniper switches (EX4300/4600) proxy arp is NOT enabled by default. My question is, does proxy arp need to be enabled per interface or can it be enabled globaly on juniper switches? e24fc04721
