I am looking for a simple web proxy server that anybody can use. I mean it should be executable and not commandline/service. Something like squid/polipo but with a windows interface. It should also be able to cache and should be free of charge.

Advanced Onion Router is a client for OR network and is intended to be an improved alternative for Tor+Vidalia+Privoxy bundle for Windows users. It is able to "force" a program and its plugins to use the Tor proxy regardless of its configured proxy

For multiple websites, type each website address and separate the addresses with a semicolon (for example: *.contoso.com; *.adatum.com). The * is a wildcard so any website addresses that end with the website address listed will bypass the proxy server.

We are looking into configuring the following below since our environment does not have any internet access, and If I am not wrong we would need a Proxy server, either software proxy or hardware proxy box.

We had a linux box running squid which works, but now it must be moved to a windows box. I've installed squid on this windows box, but no matter what I do, the exe cannot force the default port 3128 to be in listening mode on the box.

Was wondering if anyone knows of a good product for windows, or if it can even do it natively? Everytime I google "run proxy on windows" or anything of that nature I get how to's on how to set up YOUR box to POINT to a proxy and it's getting annoying.

Note: After restarting the server, you'll have a clean boot environment. You must restore the system with changes made after completing your troubleshooting.

Here is a way using a simple .vbs script as a "widget" type desktop shortcut. The first time you want to run the script, click the .vbs file you create. This will automatically generate a desktop shortcut for you with an appropriate icon. Each time you click the shortcut thereafter it toggles the proxy setting, brings up a timed popup box for 1 sec to tell you whether the proxy is ON or OFF now, and changes the shortcut icon to an ON or OFF symbol to indicate the new proxy state.

Internet explorer and Google chrome both shares same proxy settings. So if we change setting in internet explorer, then it also effects in Google chrome. We can change proxy setting from CMD (command line prompt).

mitmproxy is your swiss-army knife for debugging, testing, privacy measurements, and penetration testing. It can be used to intercept, inspect, modify and replay web traffic such as HTTP/1, HTTP/2, WebSockets, or any other SSL/TLS-protected protocols. You can prettify and decode a variety of message types ranging from HTML to Protobuf, intercept specific messages on-the-fly, modify them before they reach their destination, and replay them to a client or server later on.

Use mitmproxy's main features in a graphical interface with mitmweb. Do you like Chrome's DevTools? mitmweb gives you a similar experience for any other application or device, plus additional features such as request interception and replay.

Write powerful addons and script mitmproxy with mitmdump. The scripting API offers full control over mitmproxy and makes it possible to automatically modify messages, redirect traffic, visualize messages, or implement custom commands.

When backing up using the agent, then out of the box the server being backed up acts as the proxy itself. If you use backup from storage snapshots, then the non-OS drives will be backed up by a proxy server.

Starting with v2021.4.4, the Robot can work with proxy configurations that use Authentication via Windows Credentials.

To enable this functionality, add the UiPath_PROXY_USE_DEFAULT_CREDENTIALS system environment variable on the machine with the value set to true."

My husband's laptop had a couple of Trojans that caused me to reinstall Malwarebytes (latest version installed). I was able to quarantine the Trojans but now we can't connect to the Internet. We get a message that the computer is unable to connect to the proxy server. Meanwhile my desktop is able to connect to the Internet (it's on the same network) and the laptop shows there is Internet connection in settings. I disconnected and reconnected the Internet via settings but still got the message. I ran Windows troubleshooter but it was unable to fix the problem. I disconnected the laptop from the Internet via settings, rebooted the laptop, made sure the settings were correct for the Internet connection but I get the same message. I am at a loss as to what else I can do at this point. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks for your help. Actually, the Auto-detect proxy settings for this network in settings was not checked in Internet Options on Firefox and the information you replied pointed me in the right direction. I assume that the trojans had something to do with this happening. At least, it seems to be fixed now.

After you type www.wiley.com, the request is sent to the proxy server. The server then sends the request to the server where the website is hosted. The homepage of the Wiley website is returned to the proxy server which, in turn, returns the homepage to you.

According to this, updates work alright, just take some time. This is because of the fallback option to enable direct connection if connection through a proxy server fails which happens when clients are outside the network.

A proxy server is a computer that acts as an intermediary between your computer and your target destination on the internet. Many professionals are interested in learning about different proxy types to help their businesses better compete.

Proxies allow you to browse the web anonymously, helping to protect your privacy. In addition, a proxy server can improve your internet speed and security by caching content that is being requested regularly.

Microsoft Proxy Server is the easy way to provide secure Internet access to every desktop in an organization. It eliminates the need to share a dedicated computer for the Internet or provide multiple Internet lines and modems for each desktop. Microsoft Proxy Server is the only proxy server that is fully integrated with the Windows NT Server network operating system version 4.0, making it easy to install and manage and delivering high performance. Proxy Server works with most of the applications and networks that customers have today.

Microsoft Proxy Server is easy to install and manage. Administrators can control Internet access by granting or denying connections according to users already stored in the existing Windows NT Server Directory Service, or by service, port or IP domain. Proxy Server can help track Internet use to ensure that workers are using their Internet access appropriately. All Microsoft Internet server products can be managed through a single set of familiar administrative tools found in Windows NT Server so administrators can manage all their servers by leveraging what they already know.

Customers can evaluate Microsoft Proxy Server 1.0 at no charge for 60 days by downloading it from Microsoft Proxy Server 1.0 will be available at an introductory price of approximately $995 per server with an unlimited access license in a few weeks. Customers currently using another proxy server can upgrade to Microsoft Proxy Server for $595 per server.

Sorry that you've run into this issue! As Bootstrap Studio needs to have internet connection the first time it starts, you will need to configure the proxy server manually. To do this, edit the shortcut to Bootstrap Studio on your desktop. Right click it, choose "Properties" in the menu, and add this switch at the end (outside the quotes for Bootstrap Studio.exe):

I also tryed to boot the Studio from command line using the same proxy arguments, and I got the following log message (electron) ipc module is deprecated. Use require("electron").ipcMain instead. (electron) loadUrl is deprecated. Use loadURL instead.

I revised that Post at at Stackoverflow. I installed telnet from Windows 7 / ( Control Panel - > Windows Installation Utilities -> Select Telnet). From Commnad-Line, I tested that all was right with proxy: i.e. proxy.YourDomain.com 3128

Many of Duo's application integrations do not require any local components. However, certain services do require a local Authentication Proxy service. This document contains a comprehensive reference of configuration options available for the proxy.

Quick-start guides for installing and configuring the proxy can be found in each of the specific application documentation pages (e.g. Cisco ASA, Citrix Netscaler, or F5) and the generic instructions for RADIUS or LDAP. We recommend starting with the instructions for your device or use case, and then using this page if you need advanced configuration options to support your device or service.

The Duo Authentication Proxy is an on-premises software service that receives authentication requests from your local devices and applications via RADIUS or LDAP, optionally performs primary authentication against your existing LDAP directory or RADIUS authentication server, and then contacts Duo to perform secondary authentication. Once the user approves the two-factor request (received as a push notification from Duo Mobile, or as a phone call, etc.), the Duo proxy returns access approval to the requesting device or application.

In addition to providing two-factor authentication, the Duo Authentication Proxy is a required component for importing Active Directory or OpenLDAP users into Duo via sync, Active Directory authentication for Duo Single Sign-On, and can also act as an HTTP proxy itself for other systems that also need to contact Duo's cloud service. 0852c4b9a8
