Developed by ProxMaq Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing assistive technology, ProxVision combines cutting-edge AI with a simple, user-friendly interface to provide essential real-time assistance. At ProxMaq Foundation, we prioritize your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal information collected via the ProxVision app. 

Information We Collect

• When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and your language information to create and manage your account.

• We collect data about how you use the app, such as features accessed and frequency of use, to improve our services.

• The video call feature is designed to connect blind individuals with volunteers for real-time assistance, and the calls are not recorded or stored.

• ProxVision is designed primarily for visually impaired individuals of all ages, including students and young users. However, children under the age of 13 must have parental or guardian supervision while using the app.

How We Use Your Information

• To tailor app features to your preferences and needs.

• Video calls between blind users and volunteers are not recorded or monitored.

• AI features may process images, text, or audio on your device or through secure cloud services. This data is not stored or shared beyond the immediate use case.

• ProxMaq Foundation is not liable for any sensitive or confidential information shared during video calls. Users are advised to exercise caution and avoid disclosing personal details such as financial information or passwords.

Permissions We Request

ProxVision requires specific permissions to provide AI-powered assistance and seamless video call support from volunteers. Below is a list of permissions we request, why they are needed, and how they enhance the user experience: 

• Camera (Mandatory) 

  1. To capture images for AI-based text reading, currency identification, Smart Search, scene description, and video calls with volunteers. 

  2. Images are processed in real-time and not stored.

• Microphone (Mandatory)

  1. Required for communication during volunteer video calls and for voice-based AI interactions. Also for recording feedback and support requests.

  2. Audio is used only for real-time communication and processing; it is not recorded or stored. 

• Internet & Network Access (Mandatory)

  1. Required for processing AI features, and video call functionality with volunteers. 

  2. We do not share user data with third parties.

User Control & Transparency 

• User can review and modify these permissions at any time through your device settings.

• We do not collect personal data beyond what is necessary for core functionality.

• Sensitive information should not be shared during video calls, and ProxMaq Foundation is not responsible for any such disclosures.
