This episode ended up being considerably longer than the previous two, but that was because my desire to keep playing overrode my desire to record episodes in 20 minute time-boxes. The game really starts to take shape once you understand the basics of automation, and during the episode I went from having fun, to having a whole lot of fun.

In addition to providing the docAlpha intelligent process automation platform as a client/server solution, Artsyl provides a software-as-a-service offering called Cloud. Cloud combines the power of intelligent document capture and process automation with the convenience and cost-effectiveness of cloud-based delivery.

Through the AlphaHub, all parties in the value-chain (banks, merchants, product providers) enable instant access to each other via one Omni-Commerce platform. This means that through a single integration to Alpha Payments Cloud, you will never need to make another payments or eCommerce product integration again. Find out more at www.alphapayments.com

If your automation process includes forming, joining, assembly and/or inspecting, we have a FLEXBASE solution that can adapt and enhance how you produce your products.

Our linear tables HSB-alpha are the power packs of linear modules, and they also offer high precision. The mechanical design, with a stable profile and bellows covering the ball guiding rail and spindle drive has been proven over decades. Our linear tables have rounded out our product range since 1999.

HSB-alpha linear tables are currently available in 4 standard sizes, from the HSB-alpha 15-B-155 to the HSB-alpha 35-B-455. In addition to these standard units we also make a wide range of special versions.

Automation is a hot topic within the asset management industry and has been for some time across the front, middle and back office. Our 2020 AM Digital Readiness Survey highlights that organisations are continuing to experiment with APIs, workflow tools, low-code process automation platforms and RPA in an effort to transform operating models, realise the cost savings, reduce risk and improve customer experience.

Despite the continued interest in, and perceived benefits of, automation, there appears to have been limited practical success in adopting these technologies within asset management. This is particularly clear when compared to other financial services industries such as retail banking, investment banking, and insurance. Specifically, we have observed that:

Asset managers continue to grapple with margin pressures, regulatory scrutiny and demand for digital solutions. Successful automation initiatives could solve some of these challenges, and therefore decision makers cannot simply ignore or discard them. The continued importance of data for organisations and cultural changes as a result of COVID-19 mean that asset managers also need to look at how automation can be introduced into operating models to effectively harness data and ensure efficient business continuity.

First and foremost, it is vital to understand each process step in the workflow and make it as lean as possible before applying automation. This is to guard against automating inefficient processes, which will magnify the errors and result in costly rework further down the line.

Once process optimisation has taken place, the use cases for automation need to be identified and prioritised based on the highest value to the user. Collaboration between Business and Technology functions is crucial to input into the automation solution, since the chosen software will become part of the IT estate if successful. Finally, a proof of concept or trial period should be run in partnership with the automation provider and internal teams to gain early sight of the automated solution and the potential benefits when applied to a process.2_

Historically, the best use cases have been processes which are stable, highly manual and repetitive, and carry a degree of high risk. Whilst this continues to be relevant, automation is increasingly being organised around an overall strategy such as improving the Client Experience. This is supported by our 2020 AM Digital Readiness Survey where we see client facing areas such as Client Reporting, Sales Enablement and Onboarding benefitting most from automation. This is a shift from siloed automation that solves discrete problems within a specific business function to automation that covers end-to-end processes involving multiple business teams with enterprise-wide coordination.

There are four steps Asset Managers should take now to drive greater levels of automation. These are built on Agile methodologies which deliver change by getting ideas to market more quickly, and creating solutions that are more attuned to the needs of users.

The alpha phase includes the following testing types: smoke, sanity, integration, systems, usability, UI (user interface), acceptance, regression, and functional testing. If an error is detected, then it is immediately addressed to the development team. Alpha testing helps to discover issues missed at the stage of requirement gathering. The alpha release is the software version that has passed alpha testing. The next stage is beta testing.

When we set out to create our technology, we were thoughtful about designing it from the ground up. We evaluated modern automation approaches from some of the most complex domains in the world, such as self-driving cars. We then embedded several of their core principles into our development process, including incorporating the best ways to monitor existing workflows, learning from workflows at scale and quickly adapting to change. Our team built proprietary technology to apply these core principles to the unique nuances of healthcare revenue cycle management, seamlessly blending human judgment and subject matter expertise with machine learning.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate automated implementations of continuous EEG monitoring-based detection of delayed cerebral ischemia based on methods used in classical retrospective studies. We studied 95 patients with either Fisher 3 or Hunt Hess 4 to 5 aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage who were admitted to the Neurosciences ICU and underwent continuous EEG monitoring. We implemented several variations of two classical algorithms for automated detection of delayed cerebral ischemia based on decreases in alpha-delta ratio and relative alpha variability. Of 95 patients, 43 (45%) developed delayed cerebral ischemia. Our automated implementation of the classical alpha-delta ratio-based trending method resulted in a sensitivity and specificity (Se,Sp) of (80,27)%, compared with the values of (100,76)% reported in the classic study using similar methods in a nonautomated fashion. Our automated implementation of the classical relative alpha variability-based trending method yielded (Se,Sp) values of (65,43)%, compared with (100,46)% reported in the classic study using nonautomated analysis. Our findings suggest that improved methods to detect decreases in alpha-delta ratio and relative alpha variability are needed before an automated EEG-based early delayed cerebral ischemia detection system is ready for clinical use. 5376163bf9
