If you want dedicated, passive noise-canceling earmuffs to physically block loud environments for a child, choose PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection; if you need a portable Bluetooth transmitter to stream in-flight entertainment or TV audio to hearing aids and wireless headphones, choose SUNITEC Airplane. These are two completely different categories of gear solving distinct problems: one is safety equipment for young ears, the other is an audio bridge for modern travel. Trying to use either as a "best earphones for call center" solution reveals their true nature immediately—one is too bulky for a desk, and the other lacks the microphone needed for two-way communication.
• PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection: Its biggest strength is providing 25dB of active noise reduction through physical foam and hard shells, ideal for protecting sensitive ears from concerts or fireworks; its trade-off is that it is purely passive, meaning it cannot play music or connect to devices. This pick is strictly for parents needing to shield children aged 3–16 from harmful decibel levels.
• SUNITEC Airplane: Its biggest strength is acting as a versatile wireless bridge using Auracast and aptX HD to share audio with multiple devices simultaneously without cables; its trade-off is that it offers zero physical noise isolation and does nothing to protect ears from external loud sounds. This pick is for travelers and adults who need to listen to low-volume content on noisy planes or TVs without disturbing others.
The PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection is engineered specifically for one purpose: keeping young ears safe. The data sheet makes it clear this is not a toy or a piece of consumer electronics for listening to music; it is a piece of safety gear. With a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 25dB in the US standard and 28dB SNR in Europe, it is built to physically dampen sound waves before they reach the eardrum. This is critical for kids who might be exposed to the sudden, jarring roar of a monster truck rally, the explosive crack of fireworks, or the constant drone of an airplane cabin engine.
I see this product as essential for families dealing with sensory sensitivities. Children with autism or sensory processing issues often find these environments overwhelming. The design focuses entirely on comfort during long periods of wear. It uses ultra-soft ear cushions made of noise-dampening foam that fully encompass the ears, paired with a padded headband to reduce pressure on the top of the head. The materials listed—Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Polyurethane (PU)—suggest a shell that is tough enough to withstand being dropped in a backpack but soft enough not to hurt a child's temples.
Who should buy this? You should buy it if you have a child between the ages of 3 and 16 who needs to attend events where noise levels could damage their hearing or cause anxiety. It is also the right choice if your child struggles with concentration in noisy classrooms or homes. However, who should skip it? If you are looking for something to listen to podcasts, watch movies, or take calls while working from home, this is not the device. It has no speakers, no battery, and no connectivity. It is a shield, not a player.

The SUNITEc Airplane adapter is a technological tool designed to solve the headache of connecting modern wireless devices to older or specific audio ports. Its primary role is to act as a transmitter, converting a wired 3.5mm signal into a high-quality wireless broadcast. This is particularly relevant for air travel, where many aircraft still rely on dual-prong 3.5mm jacks for in-flight entertainment systems. Instead of fumbling with proprietary airline adapters or tangled cords, you simply plug this small unit in and pair your headphones instantly.
What sets this apart is its support for next-generation audio standards like Auracast and LE Audio. This allows you to stream audio to unlimited compatible devices simultaneously. Imagine a family trip where you want everyone to listen to the same movie on their own headphones without fighting over a single pair. Or consider the utility for those using hearing aids; the device features a specific mode to switch between 24KHz for hearing aids and 48KHz for standard headphones, ensuring compatibility across different technologies. The inclusion of aptX Adaptive and aptX HD codecs suggests a focus on delivering high-fidelity audio, making it a strong candidate for anyone seeking hi res head phones for call center style clarity, provided the user isn't actually talking on the phone.
This device is perfect for travelers, gym-goers, or anyone watching TV in a shared space who wants to keep the volume low but hear clearly. The 35-hour battery life is a standout feature, meaning you can fly across continents or go on a week-long road trip without worrying about charging. However, who should skip this? Anyone needing active noise cancellation or physical ear protection will find this useless. It transmits sound; it does not block it. If you are sitting next to a crying baby on a plane, this device will make the baby louder to you, not quieter. It is also not suitable for call centers where two-way audio with a microphone is required, as it is a one-way transmitter.
• Best for physical noise blocking → PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection: Only the earmuffs provide the 25dB NRR required to physically stop loud noises from entering the ear canal.
• Best for wireless streaming → SUNITEc Airplane: Only the transmitter supports Bluetooth, Auracast, and connection to AirPods or hearing aids.
• Best for long-term comfort for kids → PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection: The adjustable headband and plush foam are designed specifically for the anatomy of a child's head, whereas the SUNITEc unit is a tiny pocket gadget.
• Best for battery longevity → SUNITEc Airplane: With 35 hours of playtime, it outlasts any rechargeable device, though the PROTEAR requires no power at all.
• Best for group audio sharing → SUNITEc Airplane: You can send audio to unlimited devices at once; the PROTEAR only protects one person's ears at a time.
• Best for hearing aid integration → SUNITEc Airplane: The specific 24KHz mode and quick-start instructions for hearing aids are unique to this model.
• Best for durability in a backpack → PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection: While foldable, the PROTEAR is built to be stuffed into a bag repeatedly; the SUNITEc is delicate electronics best kept in a case.
• Best for call center work → Neither: While both are excellent tools, neither is designed for professional two-way communication. If you must choose for a best earphones for call center scenario based on audio quality, the SUNITEc offers better transmission fidelity, but you would still need a separate headset with a microphone.
I would buy the SUNITEc Airplane for my personal travel needs because the ability to wirelessly stream high-quality audio to my hearing aids and AirPods on a flight is a game-changer that solves a real problem I face regularly. However, for the specific use case of for call center operations, I must be clear: neither of these products is the correct tool. A call center requires a microphone and a headset optimized for voice transmission, which neither the passive earmuffs nor the audio transmitter provides. If you are buying for a child's safety at a loud event, the PROTEAR is the only logical choice. If you are buying for personal entertainment on the go, the SUNITEc wins hands down.
No. The PROTEAR blocks all sound, including speech, making conversation impossible. The SUNITEc transmits audio but has no microphone, so you cannot participate in meetings. You need a dedicated headset with a boom mic for a call center environment.
No, the PROTEAR Kids Hearing Protection is a passive device. It relies entirely on physical foam and hard plastic to block sound, so there are no batteries, buttons, or charging ports involved.
Yes, it connects via Bluetooth Class 2 to a wide range of devices. It supports standard codecs like SBC and aptX, and newer Auracast features allow it to work with modern smartphones and tablets that support LE Audio.
The SUNITEc offers up to 35 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge. The PROTEAR has infinite battery life since it requires no power source, but it cannot play any audio at all.
