PHYSICAL CARE
Children admitted to the centre are cared for 24/7 by Child Care workers.
A total number of 50 Children can be accommodated.
20 Girls (age 6-12)
10 Boys (age 6-9)
20 Boys (age 10-12)
The Children follow a daily residential programme that makes provision for therapy, education, development, sports, and recreation.
Basic needs such as adequate nutrition, clothing, and toiletries are provided by the center.
Ensure that professional medical treatment is rendered.
THERAPY
Social workers engage with children on all intervention levels - individual, group & community.
Depending on the need of the child after assessment, the services of a psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor, occupational therapist and speech therapist is also sort.
EDUCATION
There is a school, Protea Primary School situated on the premises of the Centre that is managed by the Department of Education. The educational program forms an integral part of the child's development and special attention is given to aspects relating to trauma-informed learning.
ACTIVITIY PROGRAMMES
A residential care programme is in place that guides the services rendered to the children. These programmes include therapy, developmental, educational, sport and recreation programmes.
