History

The Prosper Veterans Memorial recognizes all veterans that have served honorably in one or more of the United States Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force. Furthermore, the memorial offers a lasting and enduring way to express our gratitude to our local service members.

The Full Story

The Prosper Veterans Memorial should be a collaborative effort involving multiple community-based organizations including Prosper Rotary Club, Town of Prosper, Prosper Independent School District, and Prosper Economic Development Corporation.

A committee comprised of representatives from these organizations will continue the management and fundraising for the memorial. The Town of Prosper will provide the property for the site and services for its continued maintenance. The Prosper Rotary Club will provide the project development and oversight, construction proposal review, marketing platforms, financial management and transparency, and serve as the community’s liaison.

Prosper has been planning and designing a memorial to enhance the community and provide recognition to our local community members who have served our country. The Prosper Veteran’s Memorial will serve as a place to gather, reflect, and honor those service members.

In July of 2021, the Prosper Rotary Club was approached to see the project to its completion. Once approved by the Prosper Rotary Club and Foundation boards by unanimous votes, a committee was formed to ensure the project plan was properly developed and executed.
