My research analyses: 1) the key drivers of the transformation of contemporary urban spaces and their impact on the sustainability of cities, and 2) the environmental and social impacts of development projects including the recent proliferation of mega-urban projects in Africa,  flood resilience, and access to water and sanitation by the urban poor. Methodologically, I mobilise both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Specifically, the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) in studying urban land change and flood risk mapping, accessibility of facilities and services, and an interpretive approach to understanding urban issues. Below are some publications arising from my research.
