Some Random Tricks:
- Multiply the top and bottom of the integrand by a common term (multiply by a special type of 1). For instance, the integral of sec(x) can be found by multiplying by (sec(x)+tan(x))/(sec(x)+tan(x))
- In problems that require substitution, the substitution assignment may have to be used more than once. For instance, the integral of 2x^3*sqrt(x^2+1)
- In using integration by parts, we often have to break up the integrand to find the ideal parts, u and dv. As for instance in the integral of x^5*sqrt(x^3+1)
