Project Talidhay is a non-profit, community-based organization registered under the National Youth Commission's Youth Organization Registration Program. The organization has been in operation for 4 years with over 15 volunteers based in Zamboanga del Sur. Project Talidhay's goal is to implement social welfare and recreational activities in children's centers around Zamboanga del Sur.
Specifically, volunteers of Project Talidhay believe that one way of helping children face the reality of their situation is by facilitating different activities aimed at enhancing the emotional, social, and physical aspects of the children. Project Talidhay believes that involving children in activities would build better social relations with others in their formative years. Project Talidhay implements art-based activities, sports, and indoor logic and free-play projects, including movie marathons and music-related activities.
Despite the efforts and the establishment of institutional care in children development centers in the Philippines, there is a massive gap in terms of solidifying the importance of social welfare activities for children who are abandoned, neglected, abused, exploited, among many other major contributors to shutting their dreams in the status quo. Amidst this challenge, I founded Project Talidhay because I want to fulfill a role (even the slightest one) for children in development centers by implementing recreational activities. These children deserve to be heard, and they have stories worthy of telling.
We ensure that we provide the correct response in supporting the children through different grants and aid.
We build more advocates of children's rights, while strengthening our capacity to partner with other organizations.
We create greater access of opportunities that promotes building a better future for kids in Pagadian City.
