Projectile motion is a type of two dimensional motion that involves launching or throwing an object from the ground into the air. The object is usually called a projectile, and the object's pattern of motion is known as projectile motion. An object that has been launched off the ground usually follows a curved pattern of motion, due to the effect of gravity. This pattern of motion is known as a parabolic curve.
Projectile motion is often discussed in at least two high school courses, Algebra II and Physics. In physics, projectile motions is one of many types of motion discussed.
