Principal Investigator
Nikos Chatzistamoulou is an Assistant Professor in Microeconomics at the Department of Economics at the University of Patras, Greece since October 2023. He has served as Assistant Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Ioannina, Greece from July 2021 through October 2023. His research field is Applied Microeconometrics and his research interests entail the fields of Microeconomics, Empirical Industrial Organization, Efficiency and Productivity Analysis, Business Economics, Innovation Economics, Environmental & Energy Economics and Economics of Sustainable Development. He holds a four-year B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Patras, Greece, M.Sc. in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business and Ph.D in Economics from the University of Patras. His research experience includes research positions at the Athens University of Economics and Business Greece, the University of Surrey United Kingdom and the University of Patras Greece. He has teaching experience both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. He has co-authored three books, two in Applied Operations Research using R and one in Energy Economics, Climate Change & Sustainable Development. His research has been published to international peer-reviewed journals such as Ecological Economics, Energy Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Energy Journal, Journal of Environmental Management, The Journal of Technology Transfer, International Journal of Production Economics, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, among others, as well as in peer-reviewed collective volumes published by Springer Nature and Taylor and Francis, among others. His research has attracted both national and European funding.
Dr Andriana Dimakopoulou

Dr. Andriana Dimakopoulou is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Marketing and Communication of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and the Department of Economics at the University of Patras. She holds a PhD from the Department of Management Science and Technology at AUEB, an MSc in Management Science and Information Systems (with distinction) from Warwick Business School in the UK, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of Piraeus, where she graduated first in her class. She has received various academic awards and scholarships from institutions such as the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), the Propontis Foundation, and the Onassis Foundation, in recognition of her academic excellence during her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Dr. Dimakopoulou has held research positions for 19 consecutive years at research institutions, including the ELTRUN Research Center for Electronic Business at AUEB, the Department of Economics at the University of Patras, and the National Hellenic Research Foundation, within the framework of fifteen (15) nationally and European-funded research projects. She has postdoctoral academic teaching experience as an independent lecturer at universities such as the University of Patras, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of West Attica, and the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education. Her research interests focus on the fields of innovation, digital and sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship, electronic business, digital and green business transformation, information systems management, and the evaluation of investments in innovative IT projects. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed international journals, including the International Journal of Production Economics, The Journal of Technology Transfer, Journal of Business Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and The Energy Journal.
International collaborators
Dimitris Smyrnakis is a Researcher in the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus. His research there is associated with the (medium- and long-term) macroeconomic impact of Climate Change. In addition, he is a member and the of the Cypriot EUROMOD national team working on the assessment of the upcoming tax reform of the Republic of Cyprus (Cyprus Recovery And Resilience Plan). He has also been a Researcher in the BEGIN research project on issues of Green Growth and the Green Transition. His research interests lie around dealing with the issue of endogeneity in linear and non-linear econometric models, developing methods that do not rely on instrumental variables. The methods have been applied to empirical research in the fields of Economic Growth and Development, Finance and International Trade among others. Dimitris received his Ph.D. (in Economics) from the Department of Economics of Athens University of Economics and Business (Athens, Greece). He also holds a M.Sc. in Economics from the Depatment of Economics of Athens University of Economics and Business and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Athens, Greece). His research has received funding from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (Project DETEM – Dealing with the problem of endogeneity in threshold models), as wells as the European Social Fund and the Greek Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs under the Program “Supporting researchers with an emphasis on young researchers” (Project: Can factors determining the interest rate curve explain changes in foreign exchange rates?).
