Composting Kitchen Waste
Composting Kitchen Waste
Composting waste is one of the most helpful ways to keep our planet healthy. We have the responsibility and the duty to not only separate our waste, but to turn it into a beneficial part of our lives. Composting can be used in our home gardens to grow flowers to assist with bee populations, or to grow food for our own use and reduce unnecessary food waste.
The goals of this project include: helping students identify the different types of waste that move through our kitchens, understanding the multiple functions, and creatively demonstrating knowledge regarding composting in a practical setting. In order to achieve these goals, students will collectively create a composting system in which they will witness the healthy benefits of caring for our planet.
