Rufus is a versatile and lightweight utility designed for creating bootable USB drives. It’s widely used for preparing installation media for operating systems like Windows, Linux, and even utility tools. To create a bootable USB for Windows 8/8.1 using Rufus
Download Rufus from its official website and launch it. Insert a USB drive with at least 8GB of storage, noting that all data on the drive will be erased during the process. In Rufus, select your USB drive under the "Device" menu and click "SELECT" to browse for your Windows 8/8.1 ISO file. Ensure the partition scheme is set to GPT for UEFI-based systems and the target system is configured as UEFI (non-CSM). The file system should typically be set to NTFS, and you can assign a custom label for the USB drive if desired.
After confirming the settings, click "START." Rufus will prompt you to choose between "Standard Windows Installation" and "DD Image" modes; select "Standard Windows Installation." The process will format the USB drive, copy the necessary files, and make it bootable. Once Rufus completes the task, You may close Rufus.
