FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Do you all agree to do this project topic at first?
A: Definitely not. In fact, We have different ideas at the beginning. After that, we shared our own thoughts from SMVHS and Ikuei and chose the topic on water conservation together.
Why do the Taiwanese people have water shortage problems in spite of the abundant yearly rainfall?
A: That is an excellent question. The main reason is because rivers in Taiwan are relatively short and steep. Most of the rainwater gets too muddy to be collected in the dams. Most of the rainwater would flow into rivers and drain to the ocean directly.
I saw you used the wastewater collected from the air conditioner, how much water do you save per month?
A: Thanks to this way of saving water, we are likely to save 500 millimeter per month. Though it saves little money and water, it is well said that many a little makes a mickle.
Why did you choose the small water piggy bank to collect grey water (住家辦公室廢水) instead of the rainwater harvesting(雨水撲滿)?
A: Because we believe that this good habit will form in people's minds while they are young. This event will teach children a big lesson in an interesting way.
Have you tried your action plan?
A: Not yet. Because of COVID-19, we are stopped from going to school. Probably we will carry out our action plan when the epidemic is under good control. We hope school children will enjoy this challenge in the future.
Where does the NT$5 come from or who will pay it?
A: Thank you for your question. The 5 NT dollars will be given from the fee which is saved by our action plan.
Why did you think this action plan can make a habit of saving water for everyone?
A: Thank you for your question. We think the Water Piggy Bank Challenge can affect elementary school students. In turn, they may help their relatives and friends to develop a better habit of water saving in their daily life.
What kind of troubles did you meet while doing the project?
A:Thanks for your question. Actually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been asked to stay home. Therefore, we turn to online meetings for help. Despite this, we faced some problems. On the one hand, we have the time difference of an hour between Japan and Taiwan. Sometimes, it becomes inconvenient for us to arrange online meetings. On the other hand, the qualities of WiFi connection from our houses are different among us. Either the audio or the video transmission has lags sometimes. Our project communication would slow down in this way.
