Project Electric ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with all Meta Quest Store policies, including those related to in-app purchases (IAPs). This Privacy Policy explains the types of data we collect when you use our virtual reality game, Project Electric ("the Game"), how that data is used—including in the context of IAPs—and your rights regarding that data.
This policy applies to all users accessing the Game via the Meta Quest Store.
You may submit personal information when interacting with us directly, including:

Contact handles (e.g., Discord tag, social media handles)
Messages sent via support forms or emails
We only collect this information when you voluntarily provide it (e.g., via customer support or newsletter sign-ups). It is used for communication, support responses, and optional promotional updates (with your consent).
We collect the following technical and behavioral data to ensure core gameplay functionality, maintain performance, and support analytics:

VR headset model (e.g., Meta Quest 2, Quest 3)
Operating system version
App-scoped Device ID (not linked to your Meta identity)
Hardware and rendering specifications
2. Gameplay and Interaction Data
Hand and controller movement, in-game actions

Multiplayer room participation and voice chat (if enabled)
3. Performance and Diagnostic Data

Frame rate and performance stats

4. Usage and Engagement Metrics
Map and level usage frequency
Time spent in each mode
IAP-related usage data (e.g., when in-app store is opened)
Note: Where possible, this data is anonymized or pseudonymized and not linked to your identity unless you explicitly provide identifying information (e.g., through a support email).
We may receive limited data from Meta’s APIs when you use the Game on the Meta Quest platform:
Meta User ID (app-scoped, used to distinguish users within the Game)
Region, language, and headset data
Session metrics, including IAP interactions and game time
Aggregated analytics (e.g., install sources, session count, crash logs)
We do not receive your Meta account real name, friends list, or payment details.
Project Electric may offer optional in-game purchases (e.g., cosmetics, power-ups, currency). These purchases are processed via the Meta Quest in-app payment system and are subject to Meta’s own privacy and transaction policies.
We do not process or store your payment information directly. All billing details, transaction verification, and financial data are handled securely by Meta. We only receive:
Confirmation that a purchase occurred
Type of item purchased (e.g., "Energy Skin Pack")
Date/time of purchase (for entitlement fulfillment and support)
In-app purchases are subject to Meta's parental control settings, including purchase approval requirements for child or teen accounts. Parents or guardians can manage access to IAP features through their Meta account settings.
We use collected data to:
Operate and improve game mechanics, stability, and responsiveness
Process and deliver in-app purchases and entitlements
Analyze user behavior for balance, features, and retention
Respond to your support tickets or requests
Detect and prevent cheating or abuse

We do not use your data for targeted advertising or cross-service marketing.
We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared in the following limited cases:
Service Providers: We may use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, or multiplayer features (e.g., Unity Analytics, Backtrace, Sentry).
Meta Platforms: We share usage data with Meta as required under their developer policies and to support IAP functionality.

All service providers are contractually obligated to handle your data securely and only for the purposes stated.
We retain gameplay and support-related data only as long as necessary to:
Provide core game services and entitlements
Fulfill purchase history for refund/support purposes
Meet legal or regulatory obligations

Project Electric is not directed to users under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that data has been collected from a user under 13, we will promptly delete it.
Parents can manage playtime and in-app purchase permissions via Meta’s parental tools.
Project Electric may contain optional links to third-party communities or tools (e.g., Discord). These services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing them before interacting.
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the Game after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
