Ives is a great teacher and I have benefited greatly from his help. He went through my entire argumentative essay and pointed out small details in my writing that could have been improved, like my usage of run-on sentences, how to simplify my word choices and other aspects for improvement. He also gave me his set of online notes that helped me understand different strategies to approach the comprehension section in English Paper 2, such as how to properly unpack a visual text stimulus, the different question types tested and more.

Ives is also very patient and answers any questions I have. His style of teaching is easy for me to understand as he writes down his steps, breaks it down and helps me to understand his thought process in how he gets his answers. He also tests me by asking me to walk through my own steps and teaches me how to apply his logic and line of thinking when analysing the text.

I have been attending Educado SDC’s H1 GP class for about a month and it has helped tremendously. Not only do the lessons provide me with necessary knowledge about current affairs, but they also equip me with the crucial skills required to succeed in GP. Particularly, the innovative strategy introduced by one of my tutors, Saksham, has altered my approach to GP and assisted me in correcting my habit of writing off-point during essays. Jamie, the other tutor, also boosted my content through the provision of relevant and useful examples I consistently make use of in almost every essay I write. Besides their effective tutoring, Jamie and Saksham are both amazing tutors, able to be informative while also remaining engaging and humorous. Since joining the class, I’ve found the notes and lessons extremely useful, and I’ve been scoring Bs and As in school compared to before, when I was getting Ds. Overall, the lessons are enjoyable, and Sako has been very understanding when it comes to scheduling issues. There are also many opportunities for varied methods of learning, such as workshops and in-person lessons, which are helpful as well.

Joining the H2 Chemistry (as well as H1 GP, H2 Biology, and H2 Mathematics) classes kickstarted my journey with Educado SDC, and was one of the best decisions I've made :> The classes have really helped me understand Chem better and made me feel a lot more confident tackling tough topics. On top of that, it’s been great having a group of people outside school I can turn to whenever I need help or just someone to talk things through with. Sako, our Chem (and GP!) tutor has been amazing at explaining things clearly, clearing up my misconceptions, and making difficult stuff feel way more manageable. It is erroneous to say that Sako merely lectures or tutors. In my opinion, Sako is a teacher in every sense of the word. Although I have not been with Educado for a long time, Sako’s impact on my understanding and demonstration of core GP concepts have been nothing but evident. Through a 2-hour crash course alone, alongside some practice essays (not P2-related but his feedback for the language component was nonetheless helpful) which Sako swiftly vetted for my benefit, I was able to obtain a 33/38 for my most recent GP test — perhaps a personal best.

Why I love Educado 🥑

Educado’s learning resources are top-notch, breaking down a seemingly impenetrable subject into its fundamental constituents, whilst retaining sophistication and nuance. Being a tutee has bequeathed me access to a vast and priceless repository of GP resources — content packages, thinking + writing frameworks for the essay component, P1 and P2 practice questions to sharpen mastery. Teaching with both dedication and pedagogical finesse, Sako deftly unpacks the expectations of examiners, steering our learning with precision and intent.
Sako is extremely dedicated to his students — a quality which I believe lies at the very foundation of his teaching pathos. During class time, he consults students individually to check in on their progress and ability to comprehend what is being taught, while offering personal feedback on completed exercises. However, his zeal is not solely confined to the classroom, seizing large chunks of his personal downtime for the sake of our learning. Sako was recently conscripted into the army, so his schedule has gotten extremely hectic as he attempts to juggle serviceman and tutor roles while giving his all to both. Yet, he has never once complained. Despite the exhausting realities of NS, lessons continue, work gets marked, and if a lesson is missed, we can count on him to arrange a make-up without fail.

I genuinely find the lessons very enjoyable and my tutor was able to simply hard topics in Physics for me, making it incredibly easy for me apply the concepts to other similar questions. My tutor also provides me with a lot of practice questions and working for me to master the concepts. Overall, it's been a very positive experience and I can't wait to continue my lessons.

En Ya is a very interactive tutor! She will use relatable stories and language to explain Chemistry concepts and will challenge me to make sure I understand each topic. She has a clear understanding and contagious love for chemistry that spreads during sessions so that I can understand, grasp and familiarise myself with Chemistry better. Since my lessons with her, I've gained a better understanding of Chemistry and have found myself being able to answer more questions in class!
